TeamViewer is a simple and fast solution for remote control, desktop sharing and file transfer that works behind any firewall and NAT proxy. To connect to another computer just run TeamViewer on both machines without the need of an installation procedure. With the first start automatic partner IDs are generated on both computers. Just enter your partner's ID into TeamViewer and the connection is established immediately. With many thousand users worldwide TeamViewer is a standard tool to give support and assistance to people in remote locations. The software can also be used for presentations, where you can show your own desktop to a partner, e.g. to present a software solution. TeamViewer also is VNC compatible and offers secure, encrypted data transfer to maximize security.

TeamViewer is an easy to use and user-friendly desktop sharing and remote PC Access software. Using TeamViewer, you can remotely control a partner’s desktop to give online assistance, or you can share your desktop with him. TeamViewer consists of two modules, the main module, known as the Supporter module, and another, known as the Quicksupport or customer module. The Supporter Module needs to be downloaded and installed, while the Quicksupport module can be run online. This guide will show you how to use TeamViewer to share your desktop or to access a remote PC.

To use TeamViewer, you have to create a session or wait for one, created by your partner. Start the TeamViewer Support module, and you will see something similar to the following screen.



The module gives you an ID and a password. Your partner should also be running TeamViewer, and have obtained an ID and a password. One of you should communicate the ID to the other over a telephone. The partner’s ID should be entered in the space provided, and the kind of session should be chosen from the radio buttons below. You have a choice of Remote support, Presentation, File transfer or VPN. After that click the “Connect to partner” button.
If you choose the File transfer option, you will be shown something similar to the following screen.



Here you can go through the folders of both the local machine and the remote machine, select files and transfer them either way. If you choose Remote support, you are shown the remote machine’s desktop, which you can control from your own machine.

He should communicate the ID to you. Once you have entered his ID in the place provided in th4e support module, and clicked the “Connect to partner” button, depending on the option you have chosen, you should be able to control his PC from your machine, transfer files between the two machines or show a presentation on his desktop. The TeamViewer Support Module can be downloaded from the same page (http://www.teamviewer.com/download/index.aspx). This program is free for personal use, however, for corporate use the software must be purchased.
